CRB partnered with BioNTech and leveraged experience, expertise and knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) to drive efficiencies, incorporate new technologies and align with an evolving regulatory framework that defines Messenger RNA (mRNA) as an Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP). The project demanded a flexible solution – adaptable in a dynamic environment, while providing cost-effective medicine for patients.

COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Production Facility

COVID-19 redefined risk for projects across the life sciences industry. As our clients worked to develop therapies and vaccines for SARS-CoV-2, CRB worked alongside them to design an expandable facility to enable the clinical work and commercial-scale production of life-saving products. We designed a flexible and adaptable space for quick design approval and long-lead equipment packages to produce a vaccine in record time for this 2,100-square-meter COVID-19 mRNA vaccine production facility.

CRB delivered a 46,000-sqft, architecturally-stunning laboratory, office and amenity space located in the top two floors of a 14-story tower in downtown Philadelphia. Our design boasts BSL-2 labs coupled with creative mechanical and HVAC solutions, open collaborative areas, city views and green space to bring the outside in.

We brought our experience from human food production and biopharmaceutical manufacturing to the design, resulting in a 500% capacity increase for this innovation-driven, ultra-flexible pet treat manufacturing facility.

CRB implemented our ONEsolution project approach to design and construct a new 35,000-square-foot facility for this rapidly growing contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) to double production capacity for monoclonal antibody (mAb) drug substances. Our integrated delivery accelerated this biopharma expansion project to support the widest possible variety of CDMO clients, now and into the future. We designed new CGMP manufacturing trains, quality control labs and warehousing to be robust and flexible now and in the future.
